Cisco VoIP - Multiple lines assigned to one person
Some people have more than one phone line assigned to them. Here are some ways in which they can be managed.
- Reduce to one line. In our old telephone system, we could not have the same number going to multiple buildings. This is no longer case. We can put one phone in multiple buildings. If necessary, we can forward one line to the other so you do not miss any calls.
- Have multiple phone lines, one mailbox. We can have multiple phones line feed into one mailbox. The advantage is that you only have one mailbox to manage. You can have access to the mailbox in the Web Inbox. The disadvantage is that all calls will receive the same greeting. The messages will not be separated by which number they called.
- Have multiple phones lines, multiple mailboxes. We can have each phone line with a separate mailbox. The advantage is that each phone number will have a separate greeting. It will be easy to tell which messages are for which box. The disadvantage is that only one box can be tied to your Web Inbox. All other mailboxes will need to be managed through a telephone. The system is not capable of linking one user to more than one Web Inbox.
