Setting up ODBC connection for WRAP Freeze Data

This document explains how to install SQLite ODBC Driver (if needed) and setup an ODBC connection using either the internal or external WRAP .db freeze file.
Install SQLite3 ODBC Driver
  • UW Employee
    • Contact DOM-IT and request access to the "SQLite ODBC Installer" in Zenworks and provide them the DOM# of your PC
    • Once access is confirmed, open Zenwork and run the installer
  • External Researcher
    • Work with your IT to install "SQLite ODBC Installer"
Update the SQLite3 ODBC Driver (bit version dependent)
  • Run the "odbcad32.exe" executable located in
    • 32-bit - "C:\Windows\SysWOW64"
    • 64-bit - "C:\Windows\System32"

  • Select the "User DSN" tab".
  • Continue below.

Updating existing connection

    • Select the "SQLite3 ODBC Driver" ODBC connection which needs updating
    • Click the "Configure..." button
    • Update "Data Source Name"
    • Update "Database Name"
      • This will be the WRAP Freeze .db file (either external or internal)
    • Make sure both Short/Long Column Names are selected as shown in the screenshot below.

Creating new connection

    • Click the "Add..." button
    • Update "Data Source Name"
    • Update "Database Name"
      • This will be the WRAP Freeze .db file (either external or internal)
    • Make sure both Short/Long Column Names are selected as shown in the screenshot below.
