WRAP Data Dictionary: Animal Naming Item Level Data

This article describes the "AnimalNaming_ItemLevel" freeze table and some historical issues that have been identified.

Prior to migration to OpenClinica (OC) for WRAP Cognitive Testing data storage, Animal Naming item level data was located in multiple locations (Access (SQL Server) and REDCap).  During migration to OC, data from both Access and REDCap was combined and loaded into a new item level tracking form in OC (Animal Naming).

During the process of migration and data clean-up, several different issues were identified with the item level data (issues documented below).

Issue 1: a check mark or "+" value was used to indicator correct word (only existed in Legacy data)
In the past, some testers did not write the actual animal that was said by the participant. Instead, they indicated an acceptable animal was said by using a check mark or "+" value.  This data could not be converted into item level data, and a "+" value was used to indicate an acceptable animal was given in the Animal Naming data in OC.
Example below:

Issue 2: Illegible handwriting (potentially ongoing)
In cases where writing was not legible, a "+" value was used to indicate an acceptable animal was given in the Animal Naming data in OC.
Example below:
