Check OneDrive status

Quick instructions on checking that you're signed into OneDrive and that your files are properly synched.

To verify you are signed into OneDrive on Windows 10, locate the OneDrive icon in the system tray (bottom right corner of your screen). If it's a blue cloud icon, OneDrive is signed in and running correctly. If it's a gray cloud icon with a line through it, you are not signed in. Here's how to check and ensure you're signed in:

  1. Locate the OneDrive icon: Look for the OneDrive cloud icon in the system tray (usually near the clock).
  2. Check the icon's status: Blue cloud: OneDrive is signed in and syncing. Gray cloud with a line: OneDrive is not signed in.
  3. If not signed in: Click the gray OneDrive icon. Follow the prompts to sign in with your Microsoft account.
  4. Verify sync status: If signed in, right-click the OneDrive icon and select "View sync issues" to check for any errors.
  5. Check your files: Ensure your files are syncing and that you see the expected green check marks or other sync status indicators on your files and folders.
