Zoom Attendance Template Usage

A quick guide on how to use the Zoom Attendance Template

To download the Zoom Attendance Template please go to the following box folder and then click download on the file: https://uwmadison.box.com/s/km76uer04nbrv7pusg3rqw62csoq9nup

The main thing to keep note of regarding this attendance tracker is that it is solely based on the emails you enter in column A of the "Master Attendance" tab.

Below are instructions on how to use the spreadsheet

  1. Get a list of your student emails and names however you would like. Here is how to get the list of emails using Canvas: https://kb.wisc.edu/watson/109067
  2. Once you have a column of your students names and column of your students emails, you should copy and paste the student data into the "Master Attendance" columns A and B.

  3. Now that you have your student's emails pasted into the spreadsheet you will only have to update the "Daily Class Attendance" tab. You will have to copy and paste the emails from the Zoom report which can be found on canvas. Instructions on how to do this are here: https://kb.wisc.edu/watson/105653. You will want to download the Zoom attendance log as a CSV file so that you can copy and paste the emails into the "Daily Class Attendance" tab.

    1. Note: The Daily Class Attendance tab is meant to have one zoom meeting per column. The columns are labeled Class 1, Class 2, Class 3, etc. You can change those labels to dates if it is easier for you to keep track of.

Now for each Zoom meeting you have, you can populate the "Daily Class Attendance" tab with the zoom report that is associated with Class 1, class 2, etc.

Absent Check Tab

The "Absent Check" tab is used to more easily identify who did not show up to a particular class. You can copy the emails from any column in the "Daily Class Attendance" tab and then paste it into column C of the "Absent Check" tab to find out who did not show up to class.

Since the entire spreadsheet is dependent on students using their Wisc Zoom accounts, anyone that is using a personal account will show up absent in the "Absent Check" tab and absent in the "Master Attendance" tab.
