Mac Printer installs
Print queue addresses (MACINTOSH):
How to set up the student printers with the proper driver
Go to System Preferences and double-click the Print & Fax icon
Delete any printer you currently have set up for the EJI printer (select the printer and click the minus sign)
Click the plus sign to add a new printer
If Advanced is missing --
control + click (or right-click) on the header bland space next to the "More Printers" button. on the menu that appears, choose "comtomaize tool bar")
Select the Advaced widget and drag it up to the tool bar into an empty space.
Click Done, and then click the Advanced widget to open the advanced settings and dialogues. (Note: it will take a moment for the new options to load.)
Select "Windows printer" or "Windows via spools" (depends on OS version)
Enter "smb://printq.law.wisc.edu/law_2221" in the URL: box
Enter "EJI Printer" in the Name: box
Select "Generic PCL printer" in the Use: dropdown list.
Click the Add button
Note: You'll be asked to "login" . It'll give you a choice of Registered User or Apple ID. Use Registered user and login as "Guest" with no password.
To fix a printer that is already set up, but not working properly:
Navigate to Devices & Printers from the Start Menu or the Control Panel
Right-click on the EJI Printer (will be named whatever it was named when it was initially set up, probably LAW_2221) and click "Printer Properties"
Click the Advanced tab
Click the New Driver... button
In the left pane select HP
In the right pane select the HP LaserJet 4250 PS driver
If the driver is not listed, click Windows Update and wait a few minutes and the driver should now be in the list (must be connected to the internet)
Click Next, then Finish, then OK and the printer should be working properly
