The tech department works diligently to ensure a professional level recording and editing for public facing events such as Graduation, the Kastenmeier Lecture, Fairchild Lecture, and other large events that are intended to showcase the Law School's activities. We’ll work with even sponsors providing guidance on best practices and ways to minimize technical limitations that may affect recordings. Additionally editing slows turn around time, and tech department will work with the event sponsor to ensure timely delivery. Non Public Facing Internal Lectures:
The tech department is working to ensure quality recording and quick turnaround time. Automation is used to expedite access to recordings, in many cases within an hour or two of the recording. To help ensure the best possible recording, the help department works with event organizers providing guidance on how the technology works, its limitations and best practices during a recording session. Recordings will be delivered as is, and the tech department is happy to consult on editing; providing software, face to face training, help documents and links to helpful editing videos.
Class Lectures and Recordings:
The tech department will help record lectures only at the professor's request. We will ensure the recordings are of good quality to ensure students viewing or listening can understand the lecture. We will post the lectures in so that they are easily watched. The process will be as automated as possible to decrease turn around time, in large lecture rooms, turnaround time could be as little as an hour with the smaller classrooms taking a little longer.
Negotiations and Lawyering Skills Recordings:
As we are scheduled, we'll set up the camera in the record room, ensure the students have basic instructions on what to do, and when called put away the equipment. We'll track the video recording through the work flow and either post it on Kaltura/Box, produce a basic DVD, or do both at the professor's request.
