GlobalProtect- Adding the Campus "WiscVPN" Portal
This document provides instructions for adding the UW campus portal to the GlobalProtect VPN client for macOS and Windows devices.
Mac Instructions
- Click the GlobalProtect icon in the macOS menu bar (it looks like a globe).
- In the GlobalProtect window that appears, click the icon with three horizontal lines (aka, the hamburger button) in the upper-right corner and select the Settings menu.
- Under the Connections tab, click on the “+” icon to add another portal
- Enter uwmadison.vpn.wisc.edu as the portal address and click the Add button and then close the window.
- Select uwmadison.vpn.wisc.edu from the Portal drop-down menu.
- Click the Connect button to connect the VPN.
NOTE: The uwmadison.vpn.wisc.edu portal will require the use of your NetID credentials and Duo authentication. Please refer to the Knowledgebase article in the Related Documents section below for details.
Windows Instructions
- Click the GlobalProtect icon in the system tray of the Windows taskbar (it looks like a globe).
- In the GlobalProtect window that appears, click the icon with three horizontal lines (aka, the hamburger button) in the upper-right corner and select the Settings sub-menu.
- Under the Connections tab, click on the “+” icon to add another portal
- Enter uwmadison.vpn.wisc.edu as the portal address and click the Add button and then close the window.
- Select uwmadison.vpn.wisc.edu from the Portal drop-down menu.
- Click the Connect button to connect the VPN.
