Quick Adjust WebEx Sound and Mic Settings - Webex Meetings Desktop App

Majority of Webex Sound Issues Solved within Webex PC Desktop App Software Settings
Webex sound and mic settings may change after using MS Teams, Hangouts, Canvas, Blackboard, or Zoom.  Additionally, disconnecting/connecting docking station may change sound and mic settings.

On PC's with the Webex Meetings Desktop Application installed (see: https://kb.wisc.edu/89217) a quick way to test/adjust sound/mic settings is by launching the Webex Desktop App software.  (not applicable for Webex use within browsers Chrome, Firefox, or Safari).

Start or join your meeting in the Webex Meetings Desktop App.  Once in the banner window that either lists "start meeting" or "join meeting" click on the lower right scrolling text.  It will automatically change to a "settings" button.

After pressing "settings" the menu in the image below pops up.  Most Dell laptops function with the "Speakers/Headphone (Realtek Audio)" setting.  This may vary if you are using a smart speaker or bluetooth headset.  Remember to press "test" after any changes, or the settings may not work.

After selecting settings that work for both speaker and microphone.  User should be able to click back on underlying screen (Webex room or meeting) and continue with meeting as needed.  Pop up "settings" menu should toggle to hidden.
