UW-Madison Organization Licenses

• We have the following licenses/hours that are allocated to our organization:
  • Attendee Licenses - 20,200
  • Streaming Hours - 20,200

Attendees Licenses

• These licenses are based on individuals that join your Webex Event using an email address that is NOT in the @wisc.edu email domain
  • An attendee license is consumed for our organization when this is done

• We recommend individuals that are UW-Madison employees/students to join your Webex Events using the following login options to:
  • UW-Madison NetID
  • Continue with Webex
  • An attendee license is NOT consumed when these options are used

Streaming Hours

• These hours are based on individuals watching your live stream if the following stream types are used for your event:
  • Webex Production Studio
  • RTMP
  • Simulive

• An hour is consumed for each individual and increments for each hour that is viewed by that attendee
  • Example - 5 attendees watching a Webex Event using Webex Production Studio for 2 hours consumes the following amount of streaming hours:
    • 5 x 2 = 10 streaming hours

• We recommend those who don't want to consume their streaming hours to use the following Live Stream provider options:
  • Webex
  • Zoom
  • Other (Used for Microsoft Teams for Town Halls)

Additional License Information

• DoIT will monitor the licenses per Team to ensure we do not go over our limit
• Any teams that go over their allotted license amount when their Team was created can request additional licenses by using the Change Request form
• DoIT has the option to decline your request for additional licenses
• If a Team is needing a large amount of licenses for the school year (renews June 3rd every year), additional licenses can be purchased through Webex Events and will require DoIT to assist in the request
• If our organization goes over our allotted limits, your Webex Event will continue to allow attendees to join and will not impact your Webex Event
