Web Hosting - Test Site Utilization
For each paid service level production site, the Web Hosting Service automatically provides an equivalent but distinct test site location (and DEV, QA, etc.) at no additional charge that can be utilized at the customer's discretion.
Using Test Sites
The default Test site naming convention is as follows: "wwwtest.mysite.wisc.edu". Credentials are provided along with the initial production credentials and can be used at your discretion.
The test and production environments are separate. We strongly encourage customers to utilize test sites to avoid unforeseen issues when working directly in production. You can manage the transfer of content from the test site to the production site using a variety of client applications (see Web Hosting - Publishing and Managing Your Web Account).
Additionally, if another DEV or QA environment is required we can supply that as well.
Information about how to obtain your site credentials can be found in Web Hosting - Resetting Secure FTP Passwords.
