How to Setup Printing on an Ubuntu Machine

Setup PC-Client

 

  • Enter your username, password and domain.
  • Copy the Linux folder to the machine in the Documents folder.

  • Navigate to the Linux folder in the terminal.
  • Give the script executable privileges by running the following command.

chmod u+x pc-client-linux.sh

  • Start the pc-client application and login for the first time by running the following command.

sudo ./pc-client-linux.sh

  • Enter your user name and password and choose the "Remember my identity" option.

  • To configure the pc-client application to run on startup open the Startup Applications Preferences. Click Add.
  • Enter the following information.
    • Name: PC Client
    • Command: sudo ~/Desktop/linux/pc-client-linux.sh
    • Comment: Description (Optional)
  • Click Add.

Configure the Printer Settings

  • Open the settings and navigate to the printers section.
  • Click Additional Printer Settings.
  • Click Add
  • Choose the LDP/LPR Host or Printer option.
  • Enter the following information.
    • Host: print2.morgridge.net
    • Queue: Discovery_BYOD_Mac

  • Click forward.
  • Choose the Provide PPD file option and enter the file from the following path: ~/Downloads/PPDv5.15_Win/us_eng/iR-ADV C5840_5850/CNADVC5850X1.PPD

  • Click forward.
  • In the Output Options section choose Inner Finisher L1.

  • Click forward.
  • Click Apply.
  • The first time you try to print it will ask you to login.
  • Choose the Always remember option.
