Guest: Diana Harvey, Vice Chancellor for Strategic Communication
The Office of Strategic Communication meets with the Dean’s Council fairly regularly to update the schools and colleges on major announcements. The goal of these engagements is to build relationships with the deans and to do communication more effectively. The Research Moves Us Forward website (news.wisc.edu/research-impact/) was launched to demonstrate campus’ impact in response to federal research cuts. The website also includes guidance on advocacy, developed in partnership with the Wisconsin Foundation and Alumni Association. Vice Chancellor Harvey thanked ASEC for making her aware of the System-wide Faculty and Instructional Academic Staff Survey on Freedom of Expression, Academic Freedom, Viewpoint Diversity, and Civil Discourse and encouraged shared governance groups on campus to take advantage of the opportunities to provide input.
Guests: Patrick Sheehan, Chief Human Resources Officer and Karen Massetti-Moran, Deputy Chief Human Resources Officer, Office of Human Resources (OHR)
OHR leadership expressed appreciation for the collaboration and thoughtful dialogue at the CASI Coalition Letter meeting. It was a productive meeting to discuss compensation, staff titling, and professional development resources. Following the meeting, OHR provided HR leads with resources shared at the meeting and encouraged them to share with their stakeholders. They also highlighted awareness of CASIs and encouraged engagement with CASIs. Workday training continues and all are encouraged to complete it. The training is designed to be impactful and time efficient. HR guides are available on the OHR website to further support the HR community. Post Workday go-live, a HR hyper care team will be available to support and help address questions. Beginning July 7, Remote Work Agreements will be known as Flexible Work Arrangement in Workday.
