UDOIT - Scanning a Document in UDOIT Advantage [UW-Madison]

UW-Madison’s version of UDOIT was recently upgraded to UDOIT Advantage, which offers more features than the regular UDOIT tool. As part of the improvements, you can now scan your documents from within Canvas.
  1. Navigate to Canvas and open your course.
  2. Select the UDOIT Accessibility Checker on the left side menu link.
UDOIT link, as displayed on course navigation menu

  3. Once the course has been scanned, you can access the Review Course Files tab at the top of the screen.
    Select "review course files"

  4. UDOIT will then give you a list of the issues that it has detected and the files affected.

  5. Select the Review button to see options to fix the issue.

  6. Select the Download File button to download the file and make the suggested changes, if necessary.

  7. You can also request a different type of file using the Request buttons under Alternate Formats on the right.

    • Using another format can help eliminate found issues, or make it  easier to remedy them.

You can find out more about all of these options by visiting this page from the UDOIT User Guide: Making Your Files More Accessible
