Repeatable Courses
Most Law courses are not repeatable for credit, but there are some exceptions. In general, doctrinal/substantive courses cannot be repeated for credit, whereas co-curriculars (journals, moot court, mock trial), clinics, and placements/externships can. Check the Law Course Guide to determine whether a course is repeatable for credit.
NOTE: Although students may take different topics within a topics course for credit, they cannot take the same topic again for credit. For example, students may take "Domestic Violence" and "LGBTQ+ Law" and receive credit for both even though they are both topics under the parent topic course "Law & Contemporary Problems," but they cannot take "Domestic Violence" again for credit.
If you have questions about whether a course/topic course is repeatable, contact the Law School Registrar.
