Data Documentation for Plasma Roche and Lumipulse pTau217/Amyloid Beta Dataset (Banner)

This record contains the README and data dictionary for the plasma Roche and Lumipulse pTau217/Amyloid Beta data obtained from Banner Health.

Freeze

This documentation pertains to the May 2025 Freeze of the plasma Roche and Lumipulse pTau217/Amyloid Beta - Banner dataset.

Origin

These plasma assay results come from the Banner Health biomarker laboratory and were analyzed using the Roche Elecsys e801 and Fujirebio Lumipulse G2100 platforms.

Sample Selection

Samples are collected on an ongoing basis, starting August 3, 2021. Samples were stored in varying tube types depending on the study and date of collection.
For detailed information, refer to the WRAP and/or ADRC pre-analytic protocols for CSF and plasma collection, available on the Wisconsin Alzheimer's Program KnowledgeBase.

Sample and Participant Characteristics

This dataset includes 5534 observations on 1964 participants (507 ADRC; 1457 WRAP; 1330 female; 322 URG; 109 MCI and 20 Dementia at first visit; 101 MCI and 34 Dementia at last visit; 8 participant(s) are aged 90+, of those not: mean first and last ages of 62.6 and 67.2, respectively; mean first and last days since baseline of 2328 and 4026, respectively).

Per data sharing agreements with the Oneida nation, data from Native American participants are not included in this dataset.

Analytes

  • Phosphorylated tau 217 (pTau217) - Roche and Lumipulse
  • Amyloid beta 42 (AB42) - Lumipulse
  • pTau217/AB42 ratio - Lumipulse

All the concentrations reported for these analytes are in pg/mL.

Methods

This analysis was conducted as part of an ongoing collaboration with Banner Health. Plasma samples were shipped to the biomarker laboratory at Banner, where all assays were performed. The analyses followed standard manufacturer instructions. Detailed methodological information will be available in an upcoming publication.
