Firefox (Android) - Enable or Disable the Pop-Up Blocker

This document explains how to enable and disable Firefox's pop-up blocker. Because users should normally be prompted by the app when a pop-up attempts to open, this document is for setting the default option.

For general information on pop-up blockers, see the following article: Pop-Up Blocker - FAQ.

  1. In the Firefox search bar, type the following command as is: about:config

Type about:config in the search bar

  2. In the new search bar, type or copy and paste the following command: dom.disable_open_during_load

Type and locate the dom.disable_open_during_load command

  3. Select the command's corresponding option.
  4. Click the toggle to change the setting to True or False. If set to True, pop-ups are enabled. If set to False, pop-ups are disabled and blocked.

Toggle the switch to change the preference to True or False
