WiscIT - Create a New Business Object (One-Step Configuration)

This document explains how to configure the "Create a New Business Object" step within the WiscIT One-Step Editor.

The "Create a New Business Object" step will create a new business object of a specified type when run. The fields of the new business object can also be defined in this step, allowing you to use information of the current scope of the one-step and enter it into the new object. For example, you could use the fields within the Incident the one-step was run on to create a new Agreement or Problem.

Configuring the Step

  1. Add the step by dragging it into the one-step editor.
  2. In the "General" tab, name the step, and select which type of business object you would like to create.

  4. At this point, you can also decide if you want to open the record after the step (which will change the scope of the one-step), if you want to link the object to a parent via a relationship, and whether or not it should be saved after creation.
  5. Go to the "Fields" tab.
  6. Set any fields on the object that you would like it to have. See WiscIT - Modifying Fields (One-Step Configuration) for information on configuring the fields. Note that it will track some the data of the user that run the one-step in certain fields like "Created By".
