Wisconsin Humanities Council (WHC) is located close to campus on Regent Street in a building shared with several other organizations. This group is not UW-affiliated and so does not use campus IP space, Active Directory, DNS, or DHCP, but receives a single external static IP address from a private ISP. User accounts are authenticated against an in-house Active Directory domain controller, which also serves as a file and print server, DHCP server and DNS server. Workstation Configuration

Workstations authenticate against an in-house AD server. All workstations were imaged using EPM managed MDT:

WHC owns one static address provided by a private ISP. Internal IP addresses are assigned by their domain controller, which also serves as a DHCP server.

File and Print Services

File and print services are located on WHC's internal network. They have one file server (WHC-DZSFHL2 - 192.168.16.3) which may be accessed remotely using RDP and the external IP address 71.13.3.210 by DS technicians. The fileserver contains an operating system volume and a DATA volume which contains all of their shared files and is backed up nightly with Bucky Backup. They have a NAS (WHC-FS3 - 192.168.16.15) to which their domain controller/file server is backed up daily using Windows Server Backup. The NAS is configured as an iSCSI drive. The NAS itself is also backed up daily (using Synology Time Backup) to one of a pair of external hard drives which are swapped out weekly by Michael Kean. The NAS has a web frontend which is accessible from the DS subnet at https://71.13.3.210:5001. Their Filemaker Pro server is also backed to a UW Box account but the Filemaker Pro server and its backup are NOT administered nor supported by DS. Their three printers (whc-hp-lj4014 - 192.168.16.10, whc-hp-cp2025 - 192.168.16.9 and whc-ricoh-mp-3055 - 192.168.16.8) have static IP reservations and are connected to each workstation via a Group Policy Object.

File Maker Pro Server

WHC has a Mac Pro (WI-FM-SERVER - 192.168.16.5) located onsite which serves as their Filemaker Pro server. This server is not administered nor supported by DS at this time. Any questions regarding the Filemaker Pro server must be redirected to WHC's database administrator through Michael Kean. DS technicians do not have credentials of any kind for this server.
