Q. Will Office 2008 MAC support VB code in Excel?

A. No, Microsoft Macintosh Business Unit (MacBU) has decided to adopt Apple Script.  Information can be found: http://www.microsoft.com/mac/resources/resources.aspx?pid=fordevelopers

Q. Is there a CAL needed for Groove Server?

A. No, CAL is needed, just set up the environment.

Q. Regarding External Features: Do you receive standard features and enterprise features?

A. You will only receive standard features not enterprise.

Q. Are students covered under the core CAL?

A. Yes for Madison and UWS

Q. When will Windows Server 2008 and Windows Service Pack 1 coming out?

A. Late Fall of 2007.

Q. If students want to connect to SharePoint Server, do they need the external connector?

A. No, they can connect through the e-CAL

Q. How do the folks in the system receive their media kits for Ultimate?

A. Through reseller (CDW-G) Kolleen has them

Q. What is Forefront?

A. Q. When will we be releasing Windows Rights Management CALs for the Mac?

 

A. This has been escalated to the InfoDesk.

 

Q. Will Expressions Web be added to Student Select? If so, when?

 

A. To our knowledge the answer is no. I have escalated this to our InfoDesk as a request.

 

Q. Are the Media kits all for upgrade or can you order full clean installs?   

A. Kelly was told that these were only upgrades but that you could order full bits through WWF.

Q. Where do you get access to the keys?

A. Keys for everything but Ultimate are available on the MVLS site. Ultimate keys are available from the SA Benefits help line at 866-230-0560

Q. Is there a way to come up with a read me file for the MVLS site screen without clicking on each of the downloads.   When will this happen?

A. I sent the suggestion up the line. Not sure if it will ever happen.

Q. If you download your key from the MVLS site you will get assigned x amount and how many you have left?

A. MAK for Vista Business/Enterprise on MVLS does show how many activations you are entitled to and how many you have left.

Q If you want to increase your activation 50%?

A. Make a simple call. If you need more send an email and provide enrollment number makadd.  SA Benefits help line at 866-230-0560

Q. Do you have to have a key to do the imaging?

A. You do not need a key to image.  Just to activate.

Q. Why would you have or need 10 activations for KMS?

A. This prevents rogue KMS servers, for example someone stealing a KMS key and enabling a Vista machine to be a KMS on their home network.

Q. How does the pc know where the KMS server is?
