WiscWeb - Removing spam from post comments

This document will describe the options for reducing the amount of spam you receive from comments on posts of your WiscWeb site.

 Akismet plugin

If you want to keep comments on for your site but just want to cut down on the amount of spam emails you are getting, there is a plugin you can have activated on your site which can help. Akismet, by Automattic, is one of the most popular WordPress plugins for filtering spam comments added to posts on your site. It will allow you to choose how you want spam to be handled so that it never makes its way to your inbox and doesn't get posted on your webpages.

This plugin requires an API key so the WiscWeb team will need to activate it on your project. For activation, please submit a request via the Customer Support Form and include your project URL.

Turn off commenting on your site

If you do not need users to have the ability to comment on your posts, this ability can be turned off at any time:
