WiscWeb - WordPress UW Theme - Special Characters in File Names for Media Library

Users will receive a HTTP Error upon attempting to upload media items to the Media Library from time to time, which could be caused by illegal characters being used in the file name.

Remove Special Characters From Filename

When uploading a file, such as an image or PDF file to your Media Library, you may receive a HTTP Error with little information as to what the actual issue is. This could be caused by your filename using any combination of special characters (such as !@#$%^&*'"; ).
  1. Remove any special characters from the file name. Use hyphens to represent spaces.
  2. Upload file again to test if it will work.
