WSB Departmental VPN (Mac)

This document describes how to download and configure Palo Alto GlobalProtect VPN client on MacOS

1.)    Download the client at this link: Mac 32/64 Install Link

2.)   Open the downloaded file

         The following window will open.

Some users will see the window below and some won't.  I don't know the reason for this.

4.)    Click Continue

5.)    Click "Continue

6.)    Click "Install"

7.)    Enter your local Mac password and click on Install Software.

You may get the following window complaining that the local security policy on your Mac won't allow the software to be installed without intervention from you.  The window will look like this:

8.)    Click on "Open Security Preferences"  You will see the following window

9.)    Click on "Allow"

10.)    When you click on Allow you will get the following window

11.) Now go to your Applications Folder and choose the GlobalProtect.app.

If nothing happens, it is because the app "thinks" it has been opened before, and now there is an icon in the upper right corner of your screen.  Click on it and select Show Panel

12.) You will now see the window below.  For the Portal, enter wsb.vpn.wisc.edu and click Connect

13.) Enter your Grainger domain username and password

14.) You will now be connected to the Palo Alto VPN server and the window will show "Connected" under Status.   You will now be able to use Microsoft Remote Desktop Connection to connect to your work PC.

15.) To disconnect, just click on the Disconnect button.
