Renaming Azure Lab VM

Instructions on how to rename an Azure Lab VM to allow licensing of @Risk.

To license Palisade @Risk on an Azure Lab VM you must rename the VM before using the software.

  1. Connect to your virtual machine.
  2. Press the Windows button and then choose Settings.
    • Windows Settings Icon
  3. Choose System.
    • System Settings
  4. In the left hand column, choose About and then Rename this PC.
    • Rename this PC
  5. Set the new name to be the same as your NetID.
    • Set PC Name
  6. Choose Next, and then Restart now.
    • Restart now
  7. Your virtual machine will close. Wait 2 minutes and then reconnect to your VM.
