Printing - Add a Network Printer (macOS)

Instructions for mapping a network printer on your Mac.
  1. If you are off campus, start by configuring and connecting to the UW Madison VPN.
  2. Download and run the Mobility Print installer for MacOS.
  3. Select the printers you would like to add, then click OK.
  4. After the printer has been mapped to your Mac, you will need to re-launch any apps that were open while the Mobility Print installer was running. After restarting, the apps will show the new printers as a destination.
  5. You will be prompted to authenticate. Please use your NetID credentials.
    1. Username: AD\<NetID>
    2. Password: <NetID password>
      Authentication prompt
    3. *If you are not prompted to authenticate, this means that your credentials are already cached in your Mac's keychain. However, if your job is unable to be successfully spooled to the printer due to the Hold for Authentication error (pictured below), you will need to clear the saved credentials from your Mac by following these instructions: Printing - Clear Credentials From macOS Keychain
      Hold for authentication error
