6. Make sure that the projector shows the Podium Computer screen.

7. If using a Presentation Clicker, insert the USB receiver in the front of the podium computer and test the clicker by moving the pointer on the computer screen. Some rooms already have a Presentation Clicker assigned to them. If not, request one from room 1290.

Using your own Laptop or Tablet Device

If you are using your own laptop, connect your computer using either the VGA and audio cable or, if available, the HDMI cable. If your computer does not have either of these outputs, contact room 1290 for assistance, we may have the right adapter for your specific device. You can also use the Ethernet cable to connect to our wired network.

If you have a tablet device, like an iPad, iPhone or Windows Surface, you can still connect to the projector using the HDMI or VGA cables with the right adapter for the specific device. We encourage you to bring your own adapter, but have a few iPad adapters that you can check out from us. If you need to connect to the internet you will need to use our wireless UW network. Select UWNet and follow the login instructions. If you have a NetID you can use it for the wireless network or use the Guest login instead.

Playing a DVD

Instead of using the DVD player, we recommend that you play the DVD using the podium computer. The computer DVD player will give you more control and it is more reliable when using "Homemade" DVDs and CDs. Most of our DVD players only play Region 1 content. IF you have a DVD that is not Region 1 (for the USA) you will need to convert it to work on Region 1. For more info on DVD Region Codes click here .

If at anytime you need support, call Digital Media at (608)-265-1135. We can be in the room in a few minutes to help you solve any AV related problems.
