Creating shortcuts to a website and placing them onto your iPad home screen enables you to reach important links much faster and easier. This process may also be repeated to add multiple shortcuts to different sites as well. This instruction also tell you how to place the shortcut you will create in your iPad's Dock.

Step-by-step Instructions:

1. Access the Safari Application

Begin by opening the Safari Application on your home page.

2. Enter in the URL

Once you are in Safari, enter in and load the UW School of Business' website (bus.wisc.edu).

3. Popup Box

Once the page has loaded, to the right of the URL search box is an icon of an arrow shooting outwards of a square. Tap on that icon and a list filled with different applications that allow you to save or send the page will pop up. At the bottom of the list, tap on the greyed-out icon of a plus sign labeled "Add to Home Screen".

4. Adding to Home

You will be asked to provide a name of your choice for the page you want to use. In this case, the name was defaulted to "University of Wisconsin - Madison". You may chose to leave it as it is or change it according to your preferences. Then click "Add" in the top right corner to create the shortcut.

5. Shortcut created

You will automatically be sent to the home screen of your iPad, showing you that a shortcut has been added.

6. Moving the icon to your dock

Tap and hold down on the icon for a few seconds until all the applications on the screen begin to vibrate and an 'x' shows up. Once the apps are shaking, drag the icon (by holding down on it) onto the dock of your iPad, located at the bottom of the screen with your default applications.

7. Finalizing changes

Press the Home button again to finalize the contents of the screen. The shortcut has been successfully moved to the iPad dock.
