Your university email system is WiscMail, configuring your WiscMail account will help you with installation of all other software. Follow these instructions to set up WiscMail.
The UW-Madison has licenses for some Microsoft apps, that as a faculty, student or staff of the university you can get for free. You can get this applications at any time by signing in with your wisc email, even if you have created a Microsoft account. When you use your email to sign into a Microsoft service, the system will detect that you are part of the university and send you to login page to authorize you to use the service/software.
