Room 1266 - Technology How-To

A brief how-to with images on how to work the technology in Executive Dining Room 1266.

Executive Dining Room 1266 has recently been updated to feature two large monitors (titled "Left Display" and "Right Display" on the AMX panel) that can be used for either the Room Computer (which is located on the wall shelf in the corner of the room) or a presenter's laptop, via one of two HDMI plugs located underneath either monitor.

HDMI Wall Input

In order to use the displays, you simply need to assign them on the AMX panel, which is located by the main doors.

Depending on if you want to use the Room Computer or Left/Right HDMI Input, select which device input you want to use and then assign it to either the Left Display and/or Right Display buttons so that they turn green as in the image above. The images will appear on the monitors.

To assign sound, follow the same steps by clicking the correct input device and then assign it to the Audio Source button so that it turns green as in the image above.

The image above shows an active setup using a laptop for the Left Monitor. Note that we have brought a cart to the room for the presenter to place her laptop on top of, plugged it into the wall so that it's charging, and then connected the HDMI to the laptop and wall plug. The AMX panel is in the left of the photo for reference.

It's possible to assign multiple devices to the monitors. For example, you could connect two laptops to the monitors via their HDMI plugs so long as you assign the inputs properly on the AMX panel. You will become familiar with this process through use of the room.
