AT - How to use the wireless system in the classrooms in Grainger Hall

These instructions are pertinent for the following rooms in Grainger Hall:
1140, 1170, 1175, 1180, 1185, 1190, 1195, 1270, 1280, 2120, 2165, 2170, 2270, 2280, 2335, 2339, 2510, 2520
1. Introduction Page:
When you first enter the AMX panel, you will be taken to this screen:
Input Page:
This is the Input page, and it allows you to select a variety of mediums to display your information. The following instructions will detail how to display your information through a wireless connection of either an Apple or Windows/Android device.
Select Input Source:
![]() | The Apple Wireless input allows you to use one Apple OS or IOS device to connect and display content onto the projector screen within the classroom. |
![]() | The Windows wireless option allows you to use one Windows or Android device to connect and display content onto the projector screen within the classroom. Please note that not all Android devices are supported by this option. |
Apple OS & IOS
Wirelessly connecting with an iPhone or iPad:
![]() | On the AMX touch panel, select Apple OS & IOS Wireless. |

![]() | On your Apple IOS device, double click the home button to open quick settings. Select "Screen Mirroring" near the volume control. |
![]() | Your IOS device will scan for available connections. Select the connection name from the list. Here "1280 Grainger" is used for demonstration, which indicates the IOS device will be connect to room 1280 in Grainger Hall. |
| On the projector screen, a 4-digit code will be displayed. Type in this code in your IOS device to enable Air Display in the selected room. If the device does not connect shortly, you can try performing a wireless reset (see Reset wireless device connection below). |
![]() | To disconnect, double click the home button to open quick settings. Select "Screen Mirroring" near the volume control again to end screen mirroring. |
Wirelessly connecting with a Mac laptop:

![]() | On your Mac laptop, click on the Apple icon on the top left corner. In the menu, select System Preference. |
![]() | Select "Displays" in the window. |
![]() | Select the room you want to connected to in the "AirPlay Display". Here "1280 Grainger" is used as example. |

![]() | To turn off AirPlay, select "Off" in the AirPlay. You will stop sharing your information on the screen. |

Windows & Android
Wirelessly connecting with an Android device

On your Android cell phone, swipe down on the home screen, then tap on the Notification Panel icon in the top right corner. In the menu, select the Screen Mirroring icon. Your Android cell phone will scan for available connections. |

Enter the pin that appears on the projector display and select CONNECT. If the device does not connect shortly, you can try performing a wireless reset (see Reset wireless device connection below).Notice: the Microsoft Wireless Adapter may not support some types of Android phones. |

To disconnect, swipe down on the home screen, then tap on the Notification Panel icon in the top right corner. In the menu, select the Screen Mirroring icon again so the icon turns gray. |

On your Windows laptop, click on the Notification center icon next to the time. |

The pin for this connection in that room will be displayed on the screen. |

Enter the pin shown on the screen in your Windows laptop and click "Connect ". |

Now you will be able to display wirelessly. If the device does not connect shortly, you can try performing a wireless reset (see Reset wireless device connection below).Notice: the Microsoft Wireless Adapter may not support some types of Android phones. |

To disconnect, click the Notification Center icon next to the time display. In the "CONNECT" menu, click Disconnect. You will stop sharing your information on the screen. |
Current Wireless Source | Status Details |

Apple or IOS device connected to the Apple TV inside the podium is selected as current input source. |

Window or Android device connected to the Microsoft Wireless Adapter inside the podium is selected as current input source. Please notice that not all Android devices are supported by this option. |
Some rooms may not any of the two wireless options as input source. The buttons for these functionalities are shown in grey and there would be no feedback as shown below:

The reset button will retrieve its default display, as shown on the left. In the case of a device not correctly displaying , the “Wireless Reset” button will allow you to restart and troubleshoot the wireless devices to be able to attempt connecting again.

To enable this reset button, Press and Hold for 3 seconds. This "Pressing and Holding" operation will lead you to step 2. |

The button will begin to flash between red and green. At this stage, this "Wireless Reset" button will stop receiving any signal, whether you touch or press it. |

After 10 seconds, you will hear a beep from the AMX Panel. This indicates that the reset is complete, and you can attempt to connect your device again. |
