OS Compatibility Testing - macOS 12 (Monterey)

This document details the results of Departmental Support's software compatibility testing with macOS 12 (Monterey)

Testing Details

All applications were tested on a macOS 11.0 build upgraded from a fresh installation of macOS 10.15 as well as a clean installation of macOS 11.0.  Updated on 3/23/2021.

Recommendation

macOS 11 is currently supported on Departmental Support-managed systems per DoIT Support's supported OS policy.

UPDATE 12/1/2020: The release of Apple's new M1 Macs, which only ship with Big Sur, has introduced an additional level of complexity in evaluating compatibility with Mac applications.  While some applications may work with Big Sur on Intel Macs, they may not with Big Sur on M1 Macs.  See M1 compatibility here.
