OS Compatibility Testing - macOS 12 (Monterey)

This document details the results of Departmental Support's software compatibility testing with macOS 12 (Monterey)

Overview

Testing was completed on 10/25/2021 using macOS 12.0.1 on a 2020 13inch M1 MacBook Pro.

Recommendation

DoIT Support recommends against upgrading to new macOS versions until all relevant campus security software applications have been validated as functional.

Update 11/15:  There have been reports of macs being bricked(unusable) after updating the OS to Monterey. We expect Apple to fix this in the 12.1 update.

See M1-specific compatibility here.
