SIS - Textbooks: Missing Textbook Report

To quickly audit which courses and/or sections in your subject have missing or partially entered textbook information, you can run the Missing Textbook Report on a term-by-term basis.

Note: Some SIS pages have been updated to a new user interface. Screenshots in KB documents will be updated over time to reflect the new look, but the functionality detailed below is unchanged.


Overview

This report identifies textbooks as missing from a section if:

  • No textbook information was entered, OR
  • Textbook information was entered but only saved.

Tips

  • If a section will not have any textbook information, go to the "Enter Textbooks" page and check "Select to indicate…no textbooks…." That section will then be removed from the report.
  • If textbook information was entered and saved but not displayed to students, go to the "Enter Textbooks" page and click [Save & Display to Students]. That section will then be removed from the report.

Textbook Report: View Missing or Not Displayed Textbooks

Step 1

Navigate to > UW Madison Applications > Registrars Office WorkCenters > Curric & Enroll Rep WorkCenter |Resources|, [Queries] > Missing Textbooks. You will then see the U_CU_MISSING_TEXTBK – Missing Textbooks criteria page.

Step 2

Enter Term and Subject number.

  • Tip: To search by subject description, use "Look up" then "Advanced Lookup" to search by Description in ALL CAPS.

Step 3

Select "View Results" to see the report.

Step 4

To download the results, click "Excel Spreadsheet," CSV Text File," or "XML File" to the right of the "Download results in:" text.
