How to use Matlab in CAE Comptuer Labs and via Citrix Xen App
With Matlab 2025, anyone wising to use the software will now be required to sign in with a MathWorks account. This account will be tied to your NetID and is easy to set up.
- Open Matlab. Depending on which platform you're using and if you've opened it previously, this may take a moment.

- Once Matlab opens, you will be prompted to sign in with a MathWorks account. Enter your NetID@wisc.edu email address.

- You will be redirected to a UW-Madison NetID login page. Login with your NetID & password and Duo authenticate.

- A. If you already have a MathWorks account, you're now done. You will sign and and have access to Matlab.
- B. If you don't, you will be redirected to an account creation page. Make sure your First and Last names are correct, select your Department and your Role, and click Continue. Your account will sign into Matlab, letting you use the software, and you will get an email saying that you now have a MathWorks license tied to your account.

- A. If you already have a MathWorks account, you're now done. You will sign and and have access to Matlab.
Your MathWorks account also grants you access to install Matlab on your personal computer. More information on installing Matlab can be found here: How to Install Matlab
