Curricular and Academic Web Service - Obtaining Authorization

This document provides information on how to obtain authorization to use the Curricular and Academic Web Service.

The Curricular and Academic Operational Data Store (CAOS) has a set of web services that provides curricular, roster and student data to authorized recipient systems. Data is organized under three areas - Curricular, Course Roster and Course Roster with Student.  Curricular information includes data on courses, class sections, subjects and School/Colleges and their relationships. Course roster information supplements the curricular data by also providing a list of section enrollees and instructors. Course Roster with Student access has curricular, course roster, Student, Advisor, program/plan/subplan and other student related data available.  To request Academic data, request class roster information and let us know what type of academic data you are requesting and how it will be used.

To request access to this service and begin the approval process, fill out the required information on the Request Form that appears under the CRISAUTH Menu at http://crisauthorization.wisc.edu.

Once this information has been filled out completely and submitted, print the page and collect the appropriate approvals. The Dean/Director signature needs to be the department authorizer as defined by the CIO and Vice Provost of Information Technology on their website.
