UW-Madison Google Workspace - Android apps on Chrome devices

The Google Play Store is available for some Chromebooks, allowing you to download and use Android apps on your Chromebook. In order to use Android apps with your UW Google Workspace profile, they must be approved by the UW Google Workspace team.

Request approval for Android apps on Chromebooks

  1. Approved apps appear in the "My school apps" section of the Google Play Store.

    • If you attempt to install an app that has not yet been approved, you may see the following error message:
Android App Requires Approval Error Message
  2. Request approval for Android apps on Chromebooks here: Chromebook Android App Approval Request form.

  3. Your Android App will be approved within 5 business days of submitting your request.

  4. Once your Android App is approved, it will appear in the Google Play Store.
