UW-Madison Google Workspace - Google Groups terms of use
By using the Google Groups service, you are agreeing to be bound by the following Terms and Conditions of Use and all applicable laws and regulations, and agree that you are responsible for compliance with any applicable local laws. If you do not agree with any of these terms, you are prohibited from using or accessing this service.

Group Deactivation
The Google Groups service has adopted a policy and process to remove inactive or abandoned groups.
Groups with zero members will be deleted.
We will notify group owners or administrators when we believe a particular group is no longer active. Group owners/administrators will have the ability to attest to the groups continued existence. A failure to certify that the group is still needed will result in deactivation.
Spam Filtering
Email to UW-Madison Office 365 group members is subject to spam scanning. Learn more here: Microsoft 365 - Learn about junk email and phishing . Google Groups cannot be configured to bypass UW-Madison Office 365 spam scanning.
Messages that are rated as spam to UW-Madison Office 365 or external members may be delivered to Spam/Junk Mail folders or it may bounce (not delivered).
Owners and administrators of large groups should consider moderation and group sending permissions to limit spam distribution. Enabling group archiving may assist with spam troubleshooting.
Appropriate Use
The UW Google Groups service is intended to be used for email distribution and permissions within UW-Madison Google Workspace. UW Google Groups is NOT to be used for unsolicited bulk email or marketing email.
