How to Print Using User Codes

This document will show you how to print to a printer that requires user codes.

1. Click Start Menu, search Devices and Printers, and press Enter.



2. Right click on the selected printer and select Printing Preferences.



3. Click on the Detailed Settings tab and select Job Setup. Enter your User Code. Click Apply.




OS X

Important Note: User Codes are only needed to print in color in OS X. This guide is for a printer ending in '-Color.' Printers ending in '-B&W' should refer to the Optional section of Add a Network Printer  to setup B&W printing in OS X.

1. Open a document to print.

2. Click File then Print.

3. Select the dropdown menu that matches the following pictures:

    TextEdit:


    Microsoft Word:



4. Check the box Enable User Code. Enter your User Code in the box below.



5. In the dropdown above select Save Current Settings as Preset.



6. Enter a name for the Preset Name.



7. Make sure the Preset you created is selected when you print.
