CIAS - First Floor Teleconferencing Connection Instructions
Instructions to connect a laptop to the first floor conference room TV and Owl in the Center for Integrated Agricultural Systems (CIAS) for screen sharing and teleconferencing.
Apple macOS Screen Mirroring (Wireless)
Connecting to the TV using a wireless connection still requires a wired connection to the Owl.
Screen Mirroring Instructions
- Turn on the TV.
- Connect the Owl to the laptop using a USB-C cable.
- Select Screen Mirroring from the Control Center in the top right corner near the date and time.
- Select First Floor under "Mirror or Extend to:".
- Select the content to show on the Apple TV.
- Select the Apple TV device icon (includes remote) on the TV.
- Start the meeting.
- Disconnect the USB-C cable when the meeting concludes.
Windows or macOS Laptops (Wired)
Connecting to the TV using a wired connection also requires a wired connection to the Owl.
Wired Connection Instructions
- Turn on the TV.
- Connect the Owl to the laptop using a USB-C cable.
- Connect video to the laptop:
- Apple (macOS): Connect the Anker USB-C hub to the laptop using the cable (HDMI 2).
- Windows:
- HDMI port: Connect the HDMI cable from the Anker USB-C hub to the HDMI port.
- No HDMI port: Connect the Anker USB-C hub to the laptop using the cable (HDMI 2).
- The TV will display a green computer icon at the end of the row.
- Use the TV remote to highlight the computer icon and press the Center button to select.
- Press the Down button on the remote when the display prompts to confirm the computer device.
- Select a display option on the laptop if prompted.
- Start the meeting.
- Reconnect the HDMI cable to the Anker USB-C hub, if required.
