DoIT Departmental Tech Support - GlobalProtect - Connect Before Logon

This document describes the process for connecting to the WiscVPN service from the Windows login screen using a Departmental Support-managed Windows device.

Note: if your Departmental Support-managed Windows device does not already have this functionality, you can enable it using DoIT Departmental Tech Support - Software Offers.

  1. At the Windows login screen, click the "Network sign-in" icon in the lower right.

  2. Enter your UW-Madison NetID and password (or alternate WiscVPN credentials) and click the arrow to continue.

  3. Complete the login using Duo by either entering "1" to push an authentication prompt to your device, or enter the code you see in your Duo app or hardware token.

  4. After authenticating successfully, a "Connected" message will be displayed. Click "Back" to return to the login screen and proceed with Windows login.
