DoIT Departmental Tech Support - GlobalProtect - Connect Before Logon
This document describes the process for connecting to the WiscVPN service from the Windows login screen using a Departmental Support-managed Windows device.
Note: if your Departmental Support-managed Windows device does not already have this functionality, you can enable it using DoIT Departmental Tech Support - Software Offers.
- At the Windows login screen, click the "Network sign-in" icon in the lower right.
- Enter your UW-Madison NetID and password (or alternate WiscVPN credentials) and click the arrow to continue.
- Complete the login using Duo by either entering "1" to push an authentication prompt to your device, or enter the code you see in your Duo app or hardware token.
- After authenticating successfully, a "Connected" message will be displayed. Click "Back" to return to the login screen and proceed with Windows login.
