Locating your Device Name on an Apple Device
A Device Name is what your device calls itself on the network and how other devices see it, here are the steps to find yours:
On an iMac, MacBook, Mac Studio or Mac Mini:
- Open System Settings
- Open General
- Select About
- Your device name should be at the top of the list, you can also find your OS Version and your Serial Number in this spot as well
On an Apple Watch, iPad or iPhone:
- Open Settings
- Select General
- Select About
- This will show your device name, iOS/iPadOS/WatchOS verison and your device's Serial Number as well
