May 14 - SoE Home Folder Migrations

Beginning at 6 p.m. on Friday, May 14, MERIT will migrate SoE network home folders (P: drive) to a new server called Maple. There will be no access to home or department folders during the migration. Access will be restored by Monday morning, 7 a.m. Dean Winger will post a status update back to this list at the conclusion of the migration.
After the migration, you will see the following:
- No change - If you login to a Windows workstation, your P: drive will automatically connect to the new location.
- Some change - If you connect to your home folder from a Macintosh, you will need to connect to smb://maple/username rather than smb://soe-b8/username.
- Some change - If you connect to your home folder from a remote or wireless network, you will need to replace "soe-b8" with "maple" in the path name.
- For Windows, use path \\maple.ad.education.wisc.edu\username
- For Macintosh, use path smb://maple.ad.education.wisc.edu/username
