InterPro - Online Learning - InterPro Credit Learners - File Naming Conventions

EPD eHelp
File Naming Conventions should be used for all course assignment and document submissions. This helps instructors and students quickly identify the essential assignment particulars of a file submission.  Instructors will provide specific instructions for each course and assignment, including details regarding how and where to submit individual assignment files. If in doubt, use the following naming convention.

CourseNumber_LastNameFirstInitial_AssignmentTitle.ext

Example

Some examples of the student Buckingham Badger's assignment submission would look like the following:

EPD700_BadgerB_AS01a.docx
EPD641_BadgerB_AS01b.xls
EPD690_BadgerB_LE03-AS02.pdf
EPD612_BadgerB_FinalProjectPlan.pdf

Notes:

  • Include the leading zero if using lesson numbers smaller than 10 to facilitate automatic sorting of lessons. Keep in mind that extensions will usually be automatically added to the file.
  • File names with spaces may be difficult or impossible to upload - some server systems will generate error messages if this is tried. In the case of errors from using spaces, simply rename the file and try again.
