Professional Development University Policies

University Policies provides information to learners within InterPro Professional Development courses regarding key UW-Madison policies.

Academic Integrity
UW-Madison requires all students to act with honesty and integrity, and respect the rights of others in carrying out all academic activities. By enrolling in this course, each student assumes the responsibilities of an active participant in UW-Madison’s community of scholars in which everyone’s academic work and behavior are held to the highest academic integrity standards. Academic misconduct compromises the integrity of the university. Cheating, fabrication, plagiarism, unauthorized collaboration, and helping others commit these acts are examples of academic misconduct, which can result in disciplinary action.  Please see Academic Integrity and the Academic Misconduct Process (opens in a new tab).

Copyright Infringement
UW-Madison supports the rights of intellectual property owners as defined by law. This includes all forms of intellectual property regardless of how it is obtained or shared. The UW System prohibits illegal use, to include downloading, distribution, or other activities that violate copyright law. When notified of alleged copyright infringement, the university investigates, provides information, and takes corrective action as required by law. FERPA
FERPA – the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974, as amended – is a federal law that governs the privacy of student educational records, access to those records, and disclosure of information from them.
