Off-Campus Users

With a little set up work, all UW-Madison resources, including applications and email, can be accessed and fully productive from an off-campus location. And since wireless networks are notoriously insecure, using VPN can give you another layer of security and protection, particularly when you’re sending sensitive information.
 
 

WiscVPN Services

 
One way to use various UW Engineering software and computing services from off campus is by first connecting to the Virtual Private Network (VPN) service. This method makes it appear as if the computer is connected directly to the University's network. To do this, an active, high-speed internet connection is needed. VPN software needs to be running and connected. Information on downloading, installing, and using WiscVPN can be found at the links below:
