Lesson Topics
Finding a Room
There are several ways to view a specific room in CSI. Below are the three most common methods: Rooms Via Filtered Views, Rooms Via Floor plans, and Rooms via Reports:
Rooms via Filtered View
One of the primary ways to view interactive room details is through the 1.40 Room Information View, which consistently displays the same room details across the system.
Accessing Rooms via View 1.40:
From the Landing Page:
- Navigate to the Home Page
- Click on “1.40 Rooms” under the View header
From the Left Sidebar:
- Select the Space Management icon
- Expand the View section
- Click on “1.40 Room”
Once you're in the 1.40 Room View, you can use filters to narrow down your search and locate a specific room or set of rooms based on a variety of attributes.

Filtering Options
1. Direct Filtering (Best for Known Rooms):
- Select Facility first to narrow the scope
- Then filter directly by Room Number
2. Sequential Filtering (Step-by-Step Narrowing):
- Select a Facility → Floor → Room
- This method is ideal if you don’t know the exact room number
3. Field-Based Filtering (Flexible Criteria):
- You can filter on any field available in the Room View, including:
- Primary Use – Subuse
- Assigned Organization
- Seating Capacity
- Occupancy
- Last Inventory Date
4. See the Refining Views Lesson for enhanced options.

Rooms via Floor Plans
Another way to find and view room information is by starting from a floor plan. This method is especially helpful when identifying a room by its physical location within a facility.
Accessing Rooms via Floor Plans
Both options lead to Main, Proximate, and Outlying facility options.
- Facilities can only be in one of these three locations.
- See the Refining Views lesson for help finding the location of a specific facility
- Only buildings and floors with floor plans will be available using this method.
From the Landing Page:
- Navigate to the Home Page
- Click on the appropriate location link under the Floor Plan Graphic Views header.
From the Left Sidebar:
- Open the Space Management icon and expand the Sites section.
- Click on the appropriate location link within the Sites section.
The floor plan screen is divided into four areas:
- Floor plan area – Graphic floor plan display
- Building information area – Summary of building data
- Floor information area – Summary of floor data
- Room area – List of rooms on the floor
Finding a room from a floor plan can be done two ways:
- From floor plan – Click directly into the room on the floor plan
- The Info View displays room information
- From room listing – Click on room from room listing
- The room is highlighted on the floor plan in the top panel
See Viewing a Floor Plan for more information to help with floor plans.
