Google Drive
Files stored in Google Drive include Google Docs, Google Sheets, Google Slides, Google Sites, etc. When your UW-Madison Google Workspace account is deleted, all files that you own will also be deleted and collaborators will lose access. Ensure that all files that need to be retained by your department are transferred to another owner prior to your account being deactivated.

Find files you own
- Log in to UW-Madison Google Workspace: UW-Madison Google Workspace - Log in
- Open Google Drive
- Search for owner:me or owner: firstname lastname (e.g., owner: bucky badger)

Note: You can only transfer ownership of files to another UW-Madison Google Workspace account. You will not be able to transfer ownership of files outside the UW-Madison domain. This is a limitation by Google and cannot be overridden by the UW-Madison Google Workspace team.
