Microsoft 365 - DMARC Compliance for Amazon Simple Email Service (SES)

This document will provide steps necessary to comply with DMARC using Amazon Simple Email Service (AmazonSES).

Information about the protection of UW-Madison email with DMARC can be found here: Email Authenticity

Note: approving a third-party email vendor to send email as/from @wisc.edu addresses (e.g. mynetid@wisc.edu) is not permitted. Only approve third-party email vendors to send email as/from addresses in your subdomain (e.g. account@mydomain.wisc.edu).

Amazon provides publicly available documentation on complying with DMARC using Amazon Simple Email Service.

https://docs.aws.amazon.com/ses/latest/dg/send-email-authentication-dmarc.html

The best way to configure AmazonSES to meet DMARC requirements is to setup DKIM signing through Easy DKIM.

If you need assistance in taking the above steps, please contact the DoIT Help Desk.
