Microsoft 365 - Alternatives to Attaching Large Files
UW-Madison Box
UW-Madison Box is a cloud-based file storage and collaboration service. UW-Madison Box users are able to upload individual files as large as 50GB but actual upload size may be limited by the storage quota of the account.
- Log in to UW-Madison Box with your NetID and password
- UW-Madison Box - File Size Limit
- Upload the file to Box
- Creating a shared link to your file
- Copy the link to your email message
Repeat the steps above with each large file you need to share. Then, add any other relevant content to the email and send as usual. When your recipients visit this URL, they will be able to view or download the file
Google Drive
provides you access to Google Drive, Google's cloud storage service. Files uploaded to Google Drive through UW-Madison Google Apps are covered under an educational license. UW-Madison's Terms of Services can be found here.

Log in to UW-Madison Google Apps with your NetID and password using the following URL:

If you have multiple UW-Madison Google Apps accounts, select your desired account from the list provided.

If you only have one UW-Madison Google Apps account, you will be logged into your account automatically.

Don't see the account you are looking for? You may need to link your Office 365 service account to your NetID.

- Upload the file to Google Drive
- Share the file to "Anyone with the link"
- Copy the link into your email message
