Signature Collection at UW-Madison

This document describes how to use signature collection software on campus.

There is only one licensed and authorized signature collection tool for campus: DocuSign.

How can I get access to DocuSign?

Refer to How to Get Access to Docusign.

Do we have an Adobe Sign license?

No.

Adobe separated Sign from the UW-Madison Creative Cloud licensing in 2020. It is now completely separate licensing. Campus does not have any current licensing for Adobe Sign. DocuSign is the only licensed signature collection tool.

But I can access and use signature collection in Adobe Acrobat!

There are a couple of possibilities:

  • You may have a personal (non-UW) version of Acrobat installed.
  • Adobe includes very limited signature collection features in Acrobat as part of Creative Cloud. This is different than Adobe Sign and missing most features.

Is there a signature collection tool for medical research and human subjects studies?

The School of Medicine and Public Health (SMPH) provides an electronic consent tool. More information is available here: REDCap: e-Consent.

I have further questions about DocuSign and/or Adobe Sign.

Please contact adobe@g-groups.wisc.edu for any questions about Adobe software.

Please contact the DoIT Help Desk for questions about DocuSign: Get Help from DoIT.
