Maple TA Issue With Browser Cookie Settings
Recent versions of Maple TA have started using browser cookies to better log events that may be needed for diagnosing errors in the system. Depending on the policies set in your web browser, you may need to change your browser settings or switch to a different browser to view and interact with Maple TA content.
Recommendations for Instructors
We recommend that instructors use settings in their Canvas course to have the Maple TA activity open in a new browser tab. This will reduce the likelihood that your students will have issues with browser cookie settings. Keep in mind that students working in university labs or on other shared computers may not be able to change their browser settings.
Recommendations for Students
In general, we recommend that students use Firefox when accessing Maple TA. If you continue to encounter problems access Maple TA, you may also perform the following:
Open the Maple TA activity in a new browser tab
The first thing you should try is opening the Maple TA activity in a separate browser tab. To do this, simply right-click on the Maple TA activity in Canvas and select "Open Link In New Tab" (your browser's wording for this may be slightly different).
Change your browser settings to allow third-party cookies
If you do not want to open your Maple TA activities in a new tab every time, you will need to change the setting related to third-party cookies in your browser. If you cannot do that, you should switch to a different browser. Instructions for changing this setting for several different browsers follow.
